RESP AWARD
The strategic direction of the OPPA Credit Union is to give back to the membership and provide advice in life events. The intent of the RESP award is to provide funding for future educational needs of our members children and to increase awareness of the Credit Union within the OPP community.
Definitions:
Eligible Member
All OPPA Credit Union members, excluding employees and board members. (Must be a member of the OPPA Credit Union at the time of application and draw.)
Eligible Child
Biological children under six years of age or adopted children within six years of adoption.
Region
Regions as defined by the Ontario Provincial Police include Highway Safety Division, Northwest Region, Northeast Region, Central Region, Western Region, Eastern Region and General Headquarters. (These regions are subject to change.)
General Rules
1. Parents or guardians of eligible child must contact the OPPA Credit Union Limited for an application or complete the online application at www.oppacu.com.
2. The application must be submitted within six years from the date of birth or date of adoption of the child.
3. Proof of date of birth or adoption is required with the application.
(Birth certificate, health card, social insurance number)
4. Only one application may be made per child to a maximum of 2 children per household/family.
5. The eligibility of the RESP Award will be determined by the OPPA Credit Union CEO or Senior Manager, Business Development.
6. Each Eligible applicant will receive $100.00 to be deposited into an OPPA Credit Union Limited RESP account for the child.
7. Parents are required to contribute a minimum amount of $25.00 monthly into their child’s RESP for a minimum of 4 months or a minimum lump sum contribution of $1,000.00.
8. For new RESP plans opened after March 1st, 2010 only (not for existing OPPA Credit Union RESP Plan holders).
9. Eligible applicant will be contacted to arrange the RESP account and must agree to have their name published in OPPA Credit Union Limited publications and/or on the OPPA Credit Union website.
HOW TO ENTER
- Complete the RESP AWARD APPLICATION.
- Attach proof of birth or adoption to the application.
- Forward the completed application along with the attachment to:
