New Baby – RESP Award The strategic direction of the OPPA Credit Union Limited is to give back to the membership and provide advice in life events. The intent of the RESP award is to provide funding for future educational needs of our members and to increase awareness of Credit Union services. Definitions: Eligible Member
All OPPA Credit Union members, excluding employees and board members. (Must be a member of the OPPA Credit Union at the time of application and draw.) Eligible Child
Biological children under one year of age or adopted children within one year of adoption.
Region
Regions as defined by the Ontario Provincial Police include Highway Safety Division, Northwest Region, Northeast Region, Central Region, Western Region, Eastern Region and General Headquarters. (These regions are subject to change.)
General Rules - Parents or guardians of eligible child must contact the OPPA Credit
Union Limited for an application or complete the online application. - The application must be submitted within one year from the date of birth or date of adoption of the child.
- Proof of date of birth or adoption is required with the application.
- Only one application may be made per child and must be received at the OPPA Credit Union Limited by 4:00 p.m. on March 15 for March 31 draw and September 15 for the September 30 draw. (or first business day following)
- The random draw will be made at the OPPA Credit Union, supervised by the CEO or designate.
- Regional draws will be made March 31 and September 30 each year or the first business day following these dates.
- Each draw will be for $500 per region to be deposited into an OPPA Credit Union Limited RESP account for the winning child. ( to open an RESP account the child must have a social insurance number )
- In the event that there are no applications in a region, there will be no draw for that region.
- Winner will be contacted to arrange the RESP account and must agree to have their name published in OPPA Credit Union Limited publications and/or on the OPPA Credit Union Limited website.
HOW TO ENTER - Complete the RESP AWARD APPLICATION.
- Attach proof of birth or adoption to the application.
- Forward the completed application along with the attachment to:
