Investing

We offer access to a wide variety of investment products to suit your short- and long-term investment objectives. With the OPPA Credit Union, you also benefit from the support of your Member Service Advisor who is trained to help you make sound investment decisions, whether you want to invest for your retirement, plan for your child's education or simply save for a new car.

Term Deposits
Term Deposits earn higher interest than regular savings accounts and can help you make the most of your money without making a large financial commitment.

GICs
Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs) earn higher interest than regular savings accounts and can help you make the most of your money without making a large financial commitment.

RRSPs
Registered Retirement Savings Plans are among the most popular long-term investment vehicles because of their significant tax advantages.

Spousal RRSPs
Spousal RRSPs are similar to individual RRSPs except that designated contributions go into a spousal RRSP plan in your spouse’s name instead of your own.

RESPs
A Registered Education Savings Plan can help you save for your child’s education. All income earned is tax-sheltered until withdrawn to pay for post-secondary tuition, books and expenses.

RRIFs
A Registered Retirement Income Fund provides an income at retirement. Although you may set up a RRIF at any age, it is mandatory at age 71 when your RRSPs mature.
